Intel’s QSFP-40G-SR4 is designed for use in 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GbE) applications over multi-mode fiber. It complies with QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-SR4 specifications. The QSFP+ SR4 transceiver integrates four data lanes in each direction with each lane to giving an aggregated 40 Gbps bandwidth.
This 40G QSFP+ active optical cable provides a low-cost replacement to Intel E40GQSFPAOC-3M 40G QSFP+ AOC. This 40G AOC cable has been programmed before shipping to ensure performance and functionality identical to the Intel original active optical cable.
Finisar’s FTL4E1QM1C QSFP+ transceiver modules are designed for use in 40 Gigabit Ethernet links and 4x10G OTN client interfaces over single mode fiber. They are compliant with the QSFP+ MSA1, IEEE 802.3bm 40GBASE-ER42 and OTU3 requirements specified in ITU-T Recommendation G.6953 as adapated to a 40km interface. Digital diagnostics functions are available via an I2C interface, as specified by the QSFP+ MSA. The optical transceiver is compliant per the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU5. Finisar’s FTRJ-8519-7N-2.5 Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers are compatible with the Small Form Factor Pluggable Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA). They comply with Gigabit Ethernet as specified in IEEE Std 802.3 and Fibre Channel FC-PH, PH2,PH3 and FC-PI 10.0. Digital diagnostics functions are available via an SPI serial bus.
